New CryEngine 3 Trailer Shows How the Next Generation Could Look

Last time we took a good long look at what was possible with CryTek's CryEngine 3, it was a year and a half ago. The latest demo video released at GDC looks just as shiny, if not even more so.

So we still haven't seen perfectly rendered hide nor immaculately shaded hair of Unreal Engine 4 (GDC showings were apparently behind-closed-doors business-only affairs), but its biggest 800 lb graphics engine gorilla rival hasn't been shy about strutting its stuff. During GDC, Crytek unveiled all sorts of new bells and whistles for its already jaw-dropping engine. And vaguely unsettling fish men. There's also a bit of Warface toward the end, which I was deeply disappointed to discover isn't pronounced "Warf Ace." It could have been the heart-warming story of an immigrant dock worker who couldn't even spell the name of his place of work (thus "warf" as opposed to "wharf") and his slow, steady rise to success. But alas, it's about shooting dudes. See it after the break.
